James R. Cryder, DDS, MS

Dr. Cryder

Meet Dr. Cryder

In the 30 years I’ve practiced orthodontics, it has always been my goal to provide high quality orthodontic care at a reasonable cost to the patient. I have a friendly and hard-working staff that truly cares about our patients’ well-being. Through the years, we have evolved into an efficient provider of orthodontic treatment that considers our patients’ time to be as important as our own.

I feel that it is my duty to provide the most professional orthodontic care possible, while offering several solutions for all my patients’ orthodontic needs. I strive to maintain a friendly office atmosphere, while keeping the lines of communication open so that my patients feel comfortable with the care they receive.

Education and experience

I was born and raised in Cincinnati.  Both my parents were teachers in Wyoming, Ohio where I graduated high school. I attended The Ohio State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in 1977 before entering The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, from which I graduated in 1980.  During dental school I worked as a medical laboratory technician at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, where I met my future wife.

After graduating from dental school and marrying, I joined the Indian Health Service and worked with the Choctaw Indians in Philadelphia, Mississippi for two years. This is where the first of my two sons was born. It was a very exciting period of my life, both professionally and personally. I did a lot of pediatric dentistry during my stay in Mississippi and it was an interesting time to be living there.

I returned to Ohio and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry for my residency in orthodontics and graduated with a Master of Science in 1984. After completing my orthodontic residency, I had the opportunity to return to Cincinnati and join an existing practice in Springdale as an associate. I later purchased the practice. My second son was born soon after. I opened a second practice in Fairfield and moved this office to Liberty Township in 2005.
